There’s a certain satisfaction that comes from hearing a “new song” on the radio or at a concert that you’ve already been listening to for months. It’s exciting to be able to introduce a new artist to your friends and then getting to see that artist build their career, knowing that you supported them first. But creating a new playlist on Spotify or finding an inspiring new artist can be difficult. Austin becomes first city in U.S. to test sound mitigation technology

Being the “Live Music Capital of the World” is a big responsibility, one that Austin does not take lightly. In the recent years, noise complaints throughout the city have spiked, which has caused outdoor and downtown venues to face repercussions that are effecting business. At the same time, downtown residents and visitors are experiencing discomfort with the late night bustle that comes from living near one of these venues. Now, the city of Austin is trying to find harmony between live music with sound mitigation, if there is harmony at all.

Sound on Sound Fest debuts Globe Stage and various acts for upcoming festival

The inaugural Sound on Sound Fest (SOS) just released their Globe Stage lineup, and excitement is ensuing. The Globe Stage is a beautiful ode to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. SOS’ Globe Stage will feature non-traditional festival events such as comedy acts, panel discussions, artist Q&As and an actual wedding. (Seriously, though).
