Ruby & The Reckless‘ album, In My Head, is officially set to release today and you can be there to celebrate. Empire Control Room will host an epic album release party starting at 8 p.m., along with performances by some of OV’s favorite bands.
Ruby & The Reckless is led by fiddle player and singer songwriter Ruby Jane. Only 21, Ruby has already played lead violin for Willie Nelson, Local Natives and Lady Gaga (just to name a few), and at the age of 10 she was the youngest invited fiddler to play at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. Impressed yet? Well, wait until you hear her sing. Her vocals lead the band with a strong yet lustrous effect that leaves the audience having experienced something that you just can’t get from a recording alone. Without a doubt, this is a not to be missed show.
One of the coolest things about Ruby & The Reckless is that “The Reckless” is amazingly talented as well. Austin Simmons (bass & backing vocals), Sam Powell (keyboard and synth), Chris Copeland (drums & backing vocals) and Miggy Milla (guitar & backing vocals) show up to take your breath away at every performance, and the connection between every band member makes the experience what it is. Expect to go through full spectrum of emotions with this band and don’t ever think that you know what is coming next.
In My Head is much anticipated after the release of “Rainbows,” the closing track on the album. Not only is this song a prime example of the band’s sound and Ruby’s strong vocals, but the video is amazing too.
As if seeing Ruby & The Reckless live wasn’t enough, tomorrow’s release party will also feature six additional acts. The line-up is nothing short of impressive with Purple, MCG, The Wild Now (see our article on this must see duo!), MarshalMoon, Jane Bryant and Casie Luong all set to perform. This eclectic set of musicians will bring Rock, Punk, R&B, Singer-Songwriter, Pop, Indie and even more to Empire–leaving hardly any chance that you don’t hear or experience something new that you love come from the stage.
You can find tickets to the show online and doors open at 8 p.m. for patrons 18+.
