Houston Rapper Ugly God to perform The WAV Party at Empire Control Room

Get excited–Ugly God is bringing what he calls “the Ugly Movement” to Austin. Empire Control Room and Heard Presents will be hosting a concert featuring the rapper on August 6.

You’ve probably heard of the guy, he’s had a few of his hits go viral including last year’s “I Beat My Meat” and “Booty from a Distance,” the latter of which Wiz Khalifa recently named as his favorite song of the moment. Still haven’t heard of him? Then you’ll have definitely have to check out this video:

At 19 years old, Ugly God has become an overnight sensation, having only started rapping a year ago. He’s had an amazing start to 2016 already. Earlier this year, he was named as the first signee to ILoveMakonnen’s Red Dragon label. This March, he released his single “Water” which has gained major traction already.

If you’re curious about how he got his name, a recent interview conducted by The Tab has got you covered: “He looks to bring awareness to the plight of the ugly people, all while building a sense of pride for the Ugly Community he calls “Home.“

I’ll admit, when I first heard his music I couldn’t stop laughing. You have to give to the guy props though– he brings humor and brazen wit to his music, encouraging his audiences to join in the fun.

If you’re looking for a good time, I’d recommend heading over to Empire Control Room on August 6, doors open at 9 p.m. You can buy your ticket here for an early bird discount.
