OV Recap: On Vinyl Music’s DJ Expo and Rooftop Takeover

Last Friday, October 16th, On Vinyl Music set up shop at Rainey Street Hookah along with Human Influence Garment Haus clothing to throw a party with some of Austin’s best underground DJ’s. Here’s what you missed:

Atop an open roof building, nestled between the infamous Dirty 6th and Interstate 35 sits Rainey Street Hookah, a Rooftop bar and lounge serving alcohol, tobacco, and last Friday some of Austin’s best up-and-coming DJ’s. After months of organizing, planning and preparing,  the OV crew was finally able to throw an event that set a precedent for the company, and the people that showed up to vibe and party definitely took notice. Drinks were flowing, Super Smash Bros on a projector screen, and the music kept people on the dance floor all evening. DJ Noiice and Casual T started the evening off, and the people from the back started to slowly move forward and join the party. Closing the show were two very talented DJs by the names of Payton Long and Charles Mxxn. Spinning a mix of old classics and current Billboard topping tracks, by this time people had filed in and the party had officially started.

All in all, OV’s Rooftop Dj Expo set one hell of a precedent that’s going to be tough to follow, but as always, we strive to bring you the best underground events and quality news from the Live Music Capitol of The World.

Stay tuned for more coverage and even better events in the future.
